The situation in Africa is absolutely terrifying, and it’s these hard doses of natural tragedy that make our social and political partisan banter seem small. The World Health Organization (WHO) is calling for “drastic measures”, and says the outbreak is now the largest in history. “As of Thursday, the pandemic with a 90 percent mortality rate has killed more than 367 people and afflicted 635 in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, where it is believed to have begun”, reports the Washington Post. I hope the powers of the world will heed the WHO’s warning and work together to contain this universal threat. Our hearts go out to all affected. – Nephew
